I started this blog because people are always asking me for the recipe to something I’ve made. Having southern roots (Mom from Louisiana and Dad from Alabama), it is typical to not cook from a recipe. I learned from my aunts and my dad. But, I’m going to do my best to put to paper those dishes everyone seems to love. Understand, you probably won’t get a lot of 1-cup of this, or 2-tsp of that. The only time I use those kind of measurements is when I’m following a recipe–and then I usually change that up too!
Now, like the blog says, if you’re looking for the gourmet, fancy, hoity-toity type of recipes, you’re in the wrong place. If you want really good, satisfying, comfort food stick around. You’ll always have a picture to refer back to so you can see what it’s supposed to look like when it’s done.Don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t come out right the first time. Cooking is an art, and requires practice and patience. The best ingredient you can put in you food, though, is love.
