Chocolate Chip Walnut cookies are one of our favorites. I love the large milk chocolate chips in them!
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar (I use organic cane sugar)
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (about 12 ounces) semisweet or milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnut pieces
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together flour, salt and baking powder.
In separate bowl, beat butter and both sugars.
Add vanilla and eggs, and beat until well mixed.
Add flour but do not over mix.
Mix in the chocolate chips and walnut pieces.
Place teaspoon size balls of cookie dough on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Cookies should be golden around the edges but still soft in the middle. Remove from oven and let sit for a minute or two. Move cookies to wire rack to finish cooling. Cookies can be stored in an airtight container.
